Courtney Carmignani '05, MA '07 Named New Director of Alumni Engagement

Courtney Carmignani joined the Saint Mary’s College of California Advancement team in June 2005 as the assistant director of alumni relations. Over the last 10 years, her areas of responsibility have increased as she has held the positions of associate director, senior associate director and now director of alumni engagement.

In that time, Courtney has been an integral part of executing Saint Mary’s alumni programming at the College and regionally throughout the country. Her responsibilities have spanned the development, oversight and management of all young alumni, reunion, regional, affinity and donor recognition events. She has served as the advisor of the Student Alumni Association, a mentor in the Senior Year Experience initiative, staff partner to the Women’s Leadership Council, member of the Saint Mary’s magazine advisory committee and collaborated on numerous campus committees and projects including Commencement, De La Salle Week and the Sesquicentennial celebration committees.

As the Advancement team embarks on an ambitious plan to strengthen the College’s alumni engagement strategy, Courtney is thrilled to take the reins. “I am excited to have this opportunity to lead our Alumni Engagement team at such an important time. As we align with the College’s new strategic plan, we will create new meaningful opportunities for our alumni to engage both with the College and one another. Fostering substantial, lifelong relationships is our objective, and we are poised to work with campus partners, faculty and volunteers to ensure we are supporting our alumni long after graduation.”

Courtney graduated from Saint Mary’s with a bachelor’s degree in communication and politics in 2005 and completed her masters in organizational leadership in 2007. She serves on the board of the Center for First Generation College Students and as a resident director in Becket Hall from 2005 to 2014.
