COVID-19 Update: Staying Safe Over the Holidays

As the semester comes to a close and our campus community celebrates the holiday season both on campus and at home, COVID-19 safety continues to be of the utmost importance. Here are a few updates on campus resources as well as some of the latest updates and information from Contra Costa County.

  • For those on campus throughout the month of December, the Health and Wellness Center will remain open until Dec. 10. The center will be closed from Dec. 11 through Jan. 2 and will reopen on Jan. 3. While the campus will not offer any clinical or testing services while closed, those who would like to utilize local COVID testing resources can find more information through the County website or Test the People.
  • Want to be proactive when it comes to staying safe at holiday gatherings? Contra Costa County has a helpful guide to protecting yourself and your loved ones.
  • As more information becomes available regarding the Omicron variant of COVID-19, vaccines and booster shots remain the best option to protect yourself. To schedule a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot, visit the state’s MyTurn app or website. You may also schedule a booster appointment through Contra Costa Health Services by visiting its online portal or calling 1-833-829-2626. Local pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens also offer booster shot appointments and can in many cases offer same-day or next-day availability.
