COVID Restrictions for Indoor Athletics Games

by Linda Lenhoff | September 27, 2021
To comply with the current Contra Costa Public Health Order dated 9/14/21, all fans 12 and older attending events inside the UCU Pavilion will need to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test beginning Sept. 28, 2021. This includes all Saint Mary’s students and staff. A negative COVID-19 test must have been administered a maximum of 72 hours prior to the event to be accepted.

The Contra Costa Public Health Order requires that all patrons of indoor spaces where food and drinks are served must show proof of full vaccination, along with a photo ID or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the event. Accommodations may be made for those with valid medical or religious exemptions.

A full vaccination is defined as 14 days after receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or 14 days after receiving the second shot of the two dose Moderna or Pfizer vaccines.

Acceptable forms of proof of vaccination are:

  • A government issued vaccination card

  • A photocopy of a vaccination card either as a hard copy or stored on a phone or electronic device.

  • A personal digital COVID-19 vaccine record issued by the state of California or similar documentation issued by another government entity.

  • An authentic digital record that includes a QR code and accurately displays name, date of birth, vaccine dates and vaccine type.

To receive clearance to enter the UCU Pavilion, all guests should take one of the following steps:

  • Show proof of full vaccination and a photo ID at a vaccination checkpoint in front of the UCU Pavilion, or show proof of a negative COVID-19 test along with a photo ID at a vaccination checkpoint.

All patrons ages 2 and older are required to wear masks at all times while inside the pavilion.  Patrons between the age of 2 and 12 do not need to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.

Masks are required at all times inside the UCU Pavilion unless patrons are actively eating or drinking. Guests without proof of vaccination over the age of 12 will NOT be permitted to enter the venue.
