Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church - This book is an essential resource for Catholic social teaching.  It is the work of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace begun under the leadership of Cardinal Nguyen Van Thuan (1994-2002) and completed in 2004.  It gathers the wisdom of the Catholic Church in, 583 paragraphs arranged according to the vision and principles of the Church's teaching on peace and justice issues including among other topics, human rights, the common good, the family, labor, economics, politics, international relations, the environment, war and peace, the central role of the laity, and a civilization of love.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development - This office of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is "an instrument of the Catholic Church working to carry out the mission of Jesus Christ, to bring good news to the poor...release to captives...sight to the blind, and let the oppressed go free (Luke 4:18)."  The office is dedicated to educating the public about the crisis of poverty in America.

Catholic Climate Covenant - This is a coalition of national Catholic organizations around the effort to "encourage greater personal and shared engagement by the Catholic community to respond to the impacts of climate change."  Students of Saint Mary's College in 2012, under the guidance of the campus Catholic Institute of Lasallian Social Action, petitioned the College to become a partner in The Catholic Climate Covenant: The St. Francis Pledge to Care for Creation and the Poor.

The Catholic Worker Movement - The Catholic Worker Movement was founded by Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin in New York City, in 1933. It now comprises 225 Catholic Worker communities that "remain committed to nonviolence, voluntary poverty, prayer, and hospitality for the homeless, exiled, hungry, and forsaken. Catholic Workers continue to protest injustice, war, racism, and violence of all forms."  The organization's website has links to Catholic Worker archives and many resources for study.  The journal website carries news of contemporary events and essays.

Network - Network is a coalition of American Catholic Sisters to lobby for federal policies and legislation that promote economic and social justice.  The website has links to news and resources around contemporary issues.
