PREPARING FOR THE GENERAL AUDITION:

Auditioners should choose and prepare two out of the four monologues provided from Dance Nation. These are available in digital form by contacting Maya Dahlbacka and will be available as hard copies in folders posted on the LeFevre Theatre box office window. Hard copies will also be available on the nights of the auditions.

The audition monologues should be delivered “on book” (with script in hand); memorization is not required. Actors should focus on portraying their character’s motivation, the emotional stakes of the moment, and the shifts of thought and intention within the monologue.

CALLBACKS will be held on Friday, August 28th, from 6:30-10:00 PM.  Students will be called back for particular roles during specific time-blocks, and will be given short scenes from the play to prepare.

QUESTIONS?  WANT TO READ THE SCRIPT?

If you would like to read the full script of Dance Nation, or to request pdf versions of any of the audition monologues, please email the director Daniel Larlham, at dl15@stmarys-ca.edu, or the stage manager, Maya Dahlbacka, at mid5@stmarys-ca.edu.  Also, feel free to email them with any questions about the audition process or production in general.

All cast must be on-campus residents this Fall semester. Housing is still available!

DANCE NATION PLOT SUMMARY:
