End of the Semester Housing and Dining Hours

Hello Residential Students,

The end of the Fall term is fast approaching with Thanksgiving and Christmas Recesses. In order to plan ahead, please be aware of the following important information regarding your on-campus housing. As a reminder, the Residence Halls will remain open during Thanksgiving Break. Will you be staying during the Break? Let us know HERE.

End of Fall Term: Finals Week & Hall Closing
Residence Halls close at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022. During the week of finals, please respect the 24 hour quiet hours (beginning Friday, December 2 at 6:00 p.m.). The last meal served in Oliver Hall will be lunch on Friday, December 9. Residence Halls will reopen on Monday, January 2, 2023. 

Dining Hours
While the Residence Halls remain open, there will be limited dining options available on campus during Thanksgiving Recess. Residents remaining on campus are encouraged to utilize GaelPantry, as well as GrubHub and Flex Dollars, proactively during the period of on-campus food closures.

Monday, November 21

  • Regular dining operation hours across locations
  • Special Thanksgiving Dinner open to all students 4:45PM- 8:00PM in Oliver Hall

Tuesday, November 22nd

  • Oliver Hall - Regular hours for breakfast, lunch & dinner
    • 7:30AM- 10:30AM Breakfast
    • 11AM- 2PM Lunch
    • 4:45PM- 8:00PM Dinner
    • No Late Night
  • Cafe Louis - 7:30AM- 9:00PM
  • Gael Goods - 5:00PM- 10PM 

Wednesday, November 23

  • Oliver Hall: Closed
  • Cafe Louis: 8:00AM - 5:00PM 
  • Gael Goods: Closed

Thursday, November 24 - Saturday, November 26

  • ALL DINING LOCATIONS CLOSED

Sunday, November 27

  • Oliver Hall: Dinner 5PM - 8PM 
  • Cafe Louis: Closed
  • Gael Goods: Closed

Gael Pantry Hours

Thanksgiving
The GaelPantry is closed from November 23rd to November 27th. With that, the pantry will offer DOUBLE POINTS (20 points) for students to use on Monday, November 21st and Tuesday, November 22nd during our opening hours and tablings. 

  • Gael Pantry will be tabling outside the MMC on 11/21 from 1:30pm - 3:30pm and outside the IC on 11/22 from 2:30pm - 3:30pm 

Finals Week
The GaelPantry is closed over Finals Week, from December 5th to December 9th. With that, the pantry will offer DOUBLE POINTS (20 points) for students to use from Monday, November 28th to Thursday, December 1st during our opening hours and tablings. 

  • Gael Pantry will be tabling outside the IC on 11/29 from 2:30pm - 3:30pm and outside the MMC on 12/1 from 3:30pm - 4:30pm

Winter Break
The GaelPantry will be opened by appointment only over Winter Break and the first week of Jan Term (December 10th - January 8th) Please email kc58@stmarys-ca.edu to make an appointment. 

Late Stay & Christmas Recess Housing Requests (after December 9th) 
If you need to stay on campus and in your rooms past 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, please visit your StarRez Portal to submit a late-stay request no later than December 1. Any requests made after December 1 will incur a late fee of $50.00. Any student remaining on campus past December 9th at 12:00 p.m. must complete a Fall Late Stay request! 

To remain on campus past December 9, the rates are $45 per night for Central Campus and Canyon Halls and $50 per night for Townhouses. 

Early Arrival & January Term 2023 
Residence Halls will reopen on Monday, January 2. If you need to return to campus prior to Monday, January 2, please please visit your StarRez Portal to submit an early-arrival request by December 1st. Any requests made after December 1st will incur a late fee of $50.00. Any student arriving on campus prior to Monday January 2 must complete a Jan Term Early Arrival request!

Housing Withdrawal Information 

Your campus housing license is for the entire 2022-2023 academic year. However, if you need to cancel your license, it is important to understand financial cancellation penalties. The deadline to withdraw from on-campus housing without incurring late fees is November 15 at 4:30pm. In order to cancel, you must complete the Campus Housing Withdrawal Form

Once we receive your withdrawal, we will email you about your next steps to check out with your Resident Advisor. Students are able to cancel their housing if they are graduating or studying abroad. If you are canceling your license for another reason (such as transferring to a different school or living off campus), you are subject to termination fees.
