FACTORY HANDS: DICKENS, MARX, & VICTORIAN WORKERS, Wednesday, April 21, 3 PM

Join us for an interactive discussion of essential workers in Victorian England: their lives, the factories, and developing labour laws. Dr. Sunayani Bhattacharya will offer context on Dickens, Marx, and Victorian labour practices, then invite participants to consider how the Hands in Hard Times are viewed by both authors within the frames of Victorian England and Capitalism.

All Spring '21 Seminar Informal Curriculum events will be offered online and in real-time. Attend using this Zoom link: https://bit.ly/3ivC1qu

Most Informal Curriculum programs have an interactive component; we recommend using both audio and video functions to fully engage with the experience.  We also encourage students to sign in using their real names; complete the assigned reading beforehand, and have access to the text/s during the event.
