Dr. Jasvinder (Jassi) Kaur is the Professor/Adviser and Director of Health Sciences. She is a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist (RDN) and holds a volunteer position on the executive board of the California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a Vice President for membership benefits and services. She had been a Consultant and a Professor for the last 20 + years and had earned her Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology. Jassi plans to provide valuable insight, vision, and experience in the expansion of the Department of Health Sciences. She is well-trained in Women’s negotiation and leadership and diversity, equity, and inclusion. She believes that everyone matters and their voice matters. Jassi is a first-generation to have earned a Doctorate in her extended family. She lives with her husband, a software professional who runs his own IT company, and a son who is a data science professional working in the Bay Area. Jassi’s students love her approach and comment that she is there to support them.
