A performing arts professor and the director of Saint Mary’s Dance Program,Davalos can address American modern dance, choreography, dance history and provide dance criticism and analysis.
A Chicana choreographer and director of the Davalos Dance Company, Davalos explores artistic expression of identity and ethnicity by examining cultural issues of racism and sexism in relation to the modern woman.
- Davalos was recently awarded an NEA grant for the development of "Volver," a new work in collaboration with the Latin Ballet of Virginia. The director of the College's dance program the past 15 years, Davalos has been profiled in the San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News and Of Note Magazine.
