Robert Bulman, PhD

A professor in the Department of Sociology, Bulman's research interests include public education and inequality, class divisions in classrooms, Hollywood's depictions of high school education and the history of social movements.

Robert BulmanBulman can address news issues surrounding the privatization of public education, school choice and vouchers and the charter schools movement. Bulman is also the author of "Hollywood Goes to High School: Cinema, Schools and American Culture" (Worth, March, 2015) and an expert on Hollywood's depictions of American culture — youth culture in particular — and the education system in cinema.
