Fall Brings a Host of On-Campus Touch-Ups

Shot of fountain on campus. The Facilities Services team has been busy this summer implementing facilities improvements around campus.  While a number of operational and project initiatives are still under way, here is a review of what’s been freshened up for fall.

A few notable improvements include the full renovation of the restrooms on the first floor of Galileo Hall, the full renovation of Michael Ageno Hall, improvements to the Center for Women and Gender Equity and CAPS spaces, the addition of two new ADA bedrooms in Aquinas, and the exterior painting of Assumption, Dante, and Garaventa Halls, and the Power Plant. Additional HVAC (heating and cooling) has been installed in the classrooms in Sichel Hall.

Facilities continues to make progress on the restroom renovations on the first and second floors of Dante Hall, and anticipates they will be ready for use on Monday, Sept. 9. Progress also continues on the addition of a game room to the 1928 Pub along with the installation of a wood bar for patron seating.  These improvements will be completed in time for the Grand Re-Opening on Sept. 12.

Several athletics projects are also under way, including the new Player Development Center/Hitting Facility at the baseball field and a new metal building to accommodate the varsity strength and conditioning training facilities on the old Madigan pool site. This building replaces the existing temporary tent.

Finally, the new space for the Graduate and Professional students in the Saint Albert Hall Library is progressing, with the space expected to be completed on Monday, Sept. 30.

A full listing of all of the projects and their status can be found on the Facilities Services webpage here.
