Festival Continues a Tradition of Wine and Giving

Reserve Aug. 16 on your calendar now for the Summer Wine Festival, a fun and popular event that raises money for student scholarships. Last year's festival raised more than $10,000 for the Lasallian scholarship fund, and this year the scholarship needs are even greater.

This year, the festival will cost $25 for those who sign up before Aug. 1, and $30 for those who sign up later. Tickets for designated drivers will be $15.

The Summer Wine Festival brings alumni, friends, family members and neighbors to the Soda Center, where they can taste fine wine, meet the winemakers and buy wines directly from the wineries.

Some 25 local wineries will be pouring wines, including Brother Timothy Estate Cabernet, Concannon Vineyards, Reynolds Family Estate, Thomas Coyne, Gann Family Cellars, New Clairvaux, Pozzan and Fleming Jenkins Winery. If you are affiliated with a winery and would like to pour your wines, please call Kathryn Mayerhofer in the Alumni Office at (925) 631-4200.

Along with wine, the festival will have appetizers and sweets. You can also bid on items in a silent auction, including jewelry, day trips, tours, artwork, vacation home stays and more.

To find out more or to purchase tickets, call the Alumni Office at (925) 631-4200.
