First Test of Gael Alert Emergency Notification System

Dear Saint Mary's Community,

Last Wednesday, Saint Mary's Incident Management Team conducted the first test of the Gael Alert Notification System. The initial review shows that the swiftest method of the delivery for the test notification was text message and cell phone numbers. The on-campus phones (residences and offices) were typically 10 minutes later. Some percentage of unsuccessful deliveries appear to be due to voicemail that is not set up in the on campus residences (no answer) or "bad numbers" listed in Gael Alert. With more than 4,545 unique numbers and emails being delivered, we were satisfied at this first test but will work on some of the problems that were identified.

If you have not identified additional contact information for either text messages or cell phone numbers and would like to receive emergency notifications from Saint Mary's, please log on to GaelXpress and follow the Gael Alert link. We assure you that the contact information you provide will only be used for emergency notifications and two biannual tests in fall and spring terms.
