Football Fans Hear Only Echoes

The discontinuation of football at Saint Mary's College was the subject of a front-page story in the Contra Costa Times. The article notes that campus life "moves on amid the hustle and bustle of classes, midterms and a winning women's volleyball season that's drawing new fans."

"Students are saddened on a personal level that football's not here. What is college without a football team?" said Jeff Haskins, Saint Mary's College student body president. "But there's also a lot of excitement about other sports."
