What is the time frame for faculty and staff giving?
The Fall 2017 Faculty and Staff Giving Campaign begins November 29 and runs until December 13. Any gift made to the College between July 1 and June 30 will count as support for that fiscal year.
What is faculty and staff giving?
Faculty and staff giving is an effort to engage our entire campus community in philanthropy and provide our faculty and staff with the opportunity to directly impact our students through collective donations.
Why should you donate?
Faculty and staff are campus leaders and our philanthropy sets an example for students, parents, and alumni. In addition, faculty and staff support directly impacts the amount of grant funding the College receives. Your participation, rather than the amount, is what counts.
What if my partner/spouse works for a matching gift company?
If your partner or spouse works for a matching gift company, your gift may be doubled or even tripled. Please ask your partner or spouse to contact their human resource department for a matching gift form, and include it with your contribution.
How does payroll deduction work?
Payroll deduction is one the most convienent ways to give! Complete a payroll deduction form, and select the amount you want automatically deducted from each pay period. *Please note that all gifts, including payroll deduction and pledges, are deducted on an after-tax basis, according to federal law.
Where should I give? May I give to any area of campus?
While we welcome gifts to any and all campus programs and initiatives, gifts to Saint Mary's College (our general unrestricted fund), scholarships, and Gael athletics are the annual giving priorities that most immediately help the College seize opportunities for all aspects of the student experience as well as build and sustain the College for long-term stability.
If you are not sure if you're currently supporting SMC through payroll deduction or have other questions, please contact Suzie Swift '05, Faculty-Staff Giving Drive chair, at x4217 or [email protected].
