Graduation and Fall 2017 Enrollment Update

Dear members of the Saint Mary’s College community,

It is my pleasure to provide a graduation and undergraduate admissions update as commencement and the national May 1 deposit deadline approach.

As of this writing, 638 graduate and professional studies students and 677 undergraduate students have been cleared for commencement.

Additionally, as of April 21 the College is on track to meet our new student goal of 615 first-year students and 160 transfer students for the fall 2017 semester. First-year deposits are running 38 percent ahead of last year and transfer deposits are running 19 percent ahead of last year.

We anticipate that our student diversity and academic profile will continue to be consistent with prior years, with the geographic distribution of the incoming class reflecting a regional draw from the western United States and an incremental increase of international students. After the first week of May we will have a better understanding of where we landed with new student enrollment.

I would like to thank the enrollment team, the Office of College Communications, faculty, and staff who have played an important role in recruiting the fall 2017 class.

Dr. Hernan Bucheli
Vice Provost for Enrollment and Communications
