The newly named Ferrigno Lounge in Brother Jerome West Hall (formerly V.I.P. Lounge) will honor the memory of Michael A. Ferrigno (1944-2005), who was associated with Saint Mary's College for four decades. Ferrigno died in February 2005 at his home in Walnut Creek. During his 29-year career, he was executive director for alumni affairs, director of development, vice president for advancement and campus planning, and vice president for planning and facilities. He retired in 2003."Mike was a gift to Saint Mary's College," said former College President Brother Mel Anderson, FSC, in his eulogy. "He was quietly passionate, an unassuming, organized, quintessential professional on the outside, with a multitude of gifts within. His deep-seated faith transcended and inspired all of his life's loves.

"Michael Ferrigno's life truly exemplifies the Lasallian spirit of a super man dedicated to faith and zeal."
