Book coverWilliam Issel, professor emeritus of history at San Francisco State University, will speak on "How the Catholic Church Shaped 20th Century San Francisco," including how Saint Mary's College was a center for the training of social action crusaders. 

Issel is the author of Church and State in the City: Catholics and Politics in Twentieth-Century San Francisco, as well as For Both Cross and Flag and co-author of a number of other historical works.

Welcome Professor Issel and to listen to him talk about his work on San Francisco, social action, and Saint Mary's College.
