Event Location
The Women's Resource Center
Event Description

What does it mean to advocate for yourself, to find your voice or to organize for change in the workplace?

How can you go about negotiating a fair salary or wage at work when you already feel marginalized?

On a national level, women earn about 83 percent of what men earn for doing the same job and on average Latinas earn less than 70 percent of what their male counterparts earn. This workshop will address issues ranging from how to find your voice, how to deal with sexual harassment and hold your peers accountable at work to how to negotiate a fair salary. Ariana Alvarez will talk about some of the work that has been done to empower staff on campus to advocate for their rights and challenge injustices at work and Brittany Boynton will share strategies for negotiating a fair salary at work.
