How to Host an Outdoor Recreation or Worship Event

Our current Interim Events, Meetings, and Gatherings Policy allows for outdoor activities for on-campus resident students, when sponsored by a campus department:

  • Recreation activities for groups of 12 or fewer students
  • Worship or cultural ceremonies

These activities must be planned in accordance with industry guidelines and reserved appropriately through the MECS office.

Sponsoring Department Will Be Responsible for:

  • Checking to ensure all participants are “Safe” via the Daily Health Screening (green check).
  • Emphasizing the importance of the Gaels Wellness Pledge.
  • Maintain physical distancing of at least six feet.
  • Wear facial coverings at all times (except while swimming).
  • Promoting healthy hygiene etiquette and practice such as hand washing and sneeze protocol.
  • Maintaining an accurate roster of all attendees, in case the information is needed for Contact Tracing purposes.
  • Ensuring compliance with County, State, CDC, and industry-specific guidance and directives.
  • Ensuring proper disinfection of equipment and event materials, in consultation with Facilities Services.
