International Undergraduate Student Orientation (ISO) for Fall 2016

The mandatory International Student Orientation (ISO) will be held on Friday, August 19th through Tuesday, August 23rd. Weekend activities may be optional upon request. Housing check-in will be on Friday, August 19th from 10 am to 3 pm. Please note that there will be no housing accommodations prior to August 19th.

Regular Undergraduate Student Orientation Session IV

Additionally, all international students are required to attend the Regular Orientation Session IV on Wednesday, August 24th. Please register by completing our online registration form.

International Undergraduate Student Orientation (ISO) for Spring 2017

All international students are required to check-in and attend the mandatory International Student Orientation scheduled for Thursday, February 9, 2017. Please come to the Center for International Programs office located in Brother Jerome West Hall Room 130. Please contact the Center for International Programs office if you have any questions. 

Graduate Student Orientations

Required Online Writing and Math Placement Exams - Undergraduate Students Only

Please be advised that all F-1 international undergraduate students are required to take an online Writing placement exam. All international students will be automatically registered for the Writing placement exam, and an email from the Director of Composition will be sent to student's SMC email account. Please follow the instructions from the email and take the writing placement exam online prior to arriving on campus on. Additionally, all first-year students should also take the Math placement exam. Transfer students who plan to take any upper division math courses should also take the math placement exam. Note: J-1 Exchange Visitors are not required to take the placement exam and attend the regular orientation. You will be contacted via email with more information regarding the Exchange Student Orientation (ESO).

The United States government requires that all international students check in with Center for International Programs and attend the International Student Orientation.
The SMC International Student Peer Mentor program is designed to assist you in your transition to the U.S. and SMC community. If selected, you will be paired with a current SMC student who will will mentor you during your first year at SMC.
If you are arriving alone or taking a public transportation such as BART with family from SFO, would you use a transportation service to campus if provided by Saint Mary's?
