Simon Tryzna

B.A. Business Administration, Finance Concentration; B.S. Economics; Math Minor

Simon came up with the idea to start an Investment Group in the Spring of 2013. While working on  his two majors and a minor (while being in the Honors Program), as well as interning at Northgate Capitol and then Summit Wealth & Retirement Partners, Simon found time to work behind the scenes to make the Investment Group a possibility. As a senior, he continued to work on the Investment Group as its first president. When he’s not working or in front of his laptop, Simon can be found at a Giants game. After graduation, Simon became a consultant at ClearPath Capital.

After finishing an internship with KMPG in San Francisco this past summer, Amanda is excited to put her accounting skills to the test as Controller of the Investment Group. The Investment Group is a unique opportunity and she is excited to spend her senior year acquring new skills that will help her in her career as an audit associate with KPMG. When she isn't working in the Saint Mary's admissions office or tutoring financial accounting on campus, she enjoys spending time with her friends and reading a good book.

Brett Lyons

Brett Lyons

Brett is an East Bay Area native and a MS Accounting student at Saint Mary's in 2015. He earned his BS in Agricultural Business from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where he focused on both accounting and finance. In the summer after his junior year, he interned with Marrone Bio Innovations, where he worked under the CFO during the company's IPO. During his senior year, he served alongside 20 other students as an equity analyst for part of Cal Poly's endowment. He now does assurance work with Ernst & Young's financial services office, where he specializes on insurance and investment companies in the SF bay area. Brett is currently working towards CPA and CFA designation. He was an integral member of the third place finish of the Saint Mary's team in the 2015 CFA Research Challenge.
