John Ellis is the latest recipient of a Fulbright U.S. Student Grant to write for nine months in Saint-Louis, Senegal!

John Ellis

Ellis is a freelance writer and essayist. His work has been published in Relief Journal, Able Muse Review, Embodied Effigies Magazine, Ginosko Literary Journal, Jonah Magazine, the Journal of Veterans Studies, and others. He is the recipient of a Fulbright U.S. Student Grant to Saint-Louis, Senegal, and was awarded a graduate teaching fellowship at Saint Mary's College of California where he earned his M.F.A. in creative nonfiction. Ellis is a contributing editor for the Journal of Veterans Studies, a scholarly journal, and he served as an editor for Warriors Always Ready Inc., a nonprofit benefitting veterans, reservists, and national guardsmen in the Bay Area. He himself serves in the U.S. Army Reserve, as a paratrooper.
