Education Specialist Concentration (SPED)
JCL’s Mild-to-Moderate Education Specialist Preliminary Credential concentration thoroughly prepares you to teach students with exceptional needs.
If you have a calling for teaching children with disabilities, this program will prepare you with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful and rewarding career teaching students with:
- Autism spectrum disorder
- Specific learning disabilities
- Emotional disturbances
- Mild-to-moderate intellectual disabilities
- Traumatic brain injury
- Other health impairments (including ADD and ADHD)
Credential offered: Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Preliminary Credential from the State of California

- Strong balance of theory to practice
