Active Research Projects

The research of spiritual experience, practice, beliefs and values; the interface of spirituality, health, and counseling.

Current: Continue to engage in the two projects identified below.  In spring 2018, the SpiritResearch.org research web page is taken down after almost 2 decades; data from the survey has been downloaded and data analyses has begun.

Sabaticals:

Fall 2014: Conducted a review of the literature and wrote two papers: Beyond four forces: The evolution of psychotherapy Part I and Part II (Part II was co-authored with Dr. Drew Krafcik, SMC, Counseling Department). Both papers submitted for review in February, 2015; papers synthesized into one paper and resubmitted in September, 2016. This resulted in the publication of: Fleuridas, C., & Krafcik, D.  (2019). Beyond four forces: The evolution of psychotherapy. Sage Open. https://doi.org/10.1177/2158244018824492

Fall 2007: Analyzed and presented research from web survey on spiritual and religious values, beliefs, practices, and experiences to the American Psychology Association Annual Conference (August 2007, in San Francisco) and to the World Congress on Psychology and Spirituality (January 2008, in New Delhi, India).

Also had a sabbatical in 2001 to set up the research web page and do a review of the literature.
