KSOE Hiring Student Worker Social Media Assistants

Are you a social media connoisseur? Join the social media team for the Kalmanovitz School of Education and help create and shape the SMC voice on our social media channels. We are looking for three student workers excited to learn the ins and outs of running our social media channels. Find unique students, alumni, and faculty to feature and interview, research fun events at SMC, and work both on-camera & behind-the-scenes to brainstorm content ideas. Learn to measure successful content, stay on top of new social trends, and practice our brand guidelines, while also keeping our unique SMC voice. 

Responsibilities:

  • Help create content for our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn channels (@smc_ksoe).
  • Discover students, alumni, and faculty with compelling stories.
  • Attend weekly brainstorm and content sessions
  • Contribute and manage our content calendar
  • Schedule on-campus shoots
  • Work with our team of Student Workers and KSOE/SMC Staff
  • Organize, curate, and post weekly takeovers and stories 
  • Create a weekly event round-up for Instagram stories
  • Conduct SMC student, staff, and faculty interviews.
  • Acquire suitable photos and videos

Hours: 

5-8 hours per week. Both remote and some socially distanced in person on campus to film. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passionate about SMC and our diverse, unique community
  • Comfortable on and off camera
  • Creative self-starter with excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently and can follow directions
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Maintains confidentiality 
  • Strong computer skills, especially Google Suite 
  • Enthusiasm and “can-do” attitude 
  • Comfortable with utilizing your personal smartphone to take photos, videos, and share to platforms

Preferred:

  • Experience using filters and apps to compliment photos and videos
  • Great eye for photo photography
  • Loves being on camera, acting, and introducing our followers to new content
  • Superb writing skills
  • Experience using Canva or adobe suite design tools
  • Up to date on social media trends and news
