Resource Sharing

Interlibrary Loan is now known as Resource Sharing.

Interlibrary Loan has changed and grown over the years. We're excited to offer more services integrated into your research rather than an additional step outside of your search to fill out additional forms and requests.

Here's how resource sharing works.

  1. Use the Library Search box to look up the title of the book, film, disseration, or article to see if it is already accessible in the SMC Library collection. This is the first step in discovering what material is immediately available to you in print or electronically.
  2. If that search does not bring up your desired item, see "Didn't find what you were looking for?" at the top of the results page and click the link to expand your search. NOTE: You may need to be signed in to see that prompt. Your login is just your SMC username and password.
  3. Find the item you want, and click "Get it for me from other libraries" and follow the onscreen prompts.

Other Services

Document Delivery allows students, staff, and faculty to request books in the SMC Library Collection be mailed to a residence. (Please note that books owned by other institutions are not eligible for Document Delivery service.) Book chapters and journal articles in the physical collection can be scanned and delivered electronically..

All new requests should be made using the above process. But if you have already requested from our previous service ILLiad, you can still access your account. New requests made in ILLiad will not be able to be fulfilled.

Please Ask Us if you have further questions!
