SMC Library Services during COVID-19

Saint Mary’s College Library is offering online services and resources.

Updated October 15, 2020

The library is open to on-campus students —with modified access and hours—beginning Monday, October 19.

  • Reservations are required for all study spaces and computers. Reserve a Study Space, Room, or Computer

  • Face coverings and 6-foot distancing are required.

  • Reservations are for 2 hours maximum (15 minutes for the scanner).

  • Reservations are available for a table, a table with a computer, a table on the balcony, an individual study room, or the scanner. Reserve a space to see the seats available.

  • Cloud printing to the first-floor printers will be available. If you need to print, you can either reserve a computer or use cloud print. When an item needs to be picked up from the printers, let the staff at the "Ask Us" desk know you are here to pick up an item that has been printed.  The scanner is available by reservation.

  • The book stacks are closed; use the library catalog, Link+, and ILLiad to request books for pickup. The Textbook Collection is still unavailable this semester.

  • Hours: Mon–Fri 9 a.m.–5 p.m., Sat-Sun 1-5 p.m.

Students living off-campus can still access the Rheem Study Space. You can pick up Library books by appointment using SMC Library Pickup or have them mailed to you.

Faculty and staff can request Library books and DVDs online and then pick them up in one of two ways: use SMC Library Pickup to get books curbside by appointment, or come into the library during open hours. Link+ and ILLiad are also available; see the Link+/ILLiad tab on this page. Library study spaces are limited to students living on campus.

See our Remote Library Resources guide for information about the collections and services available remotely.
