Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) - "The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is dedicated to promoting and ensuring fair, accurate and inclusive representation of people and events in the media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation"

GLSEN: Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network - An advocacy organization "focused on ensuring safe schools for all students." A wealth of resources on issues faced by LGBTQI youth.

ILGA (International Lesbian and Gay Association) - A world-wide network of national and local groups dedicated to achieving equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people everywhere.

National Gay and Lesbian Task Force - An advocacy organization whose mission is to "build the grassroots power of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community."

Partners Task Force for Gay and Lesbian Couples - This site "contains more than 400 essays, surveys, legal articles and resources on legal marriage, ceremonies, domestic partner benefits, relationship tips, parenting, and immigration."

Saint Mary's Intercultural Center - The Intercultural Center strives to create a safe and supportive learning environment that embraces diversity and fosters an inclusive community. Includes descriptions and contact information for diversity student organizations including the Gay Straignt Alliance (GSA).

Questions about grammar and structure? Don't forget to refer back to your ENGL 3, 4 and 5 writing manuals. We have a couple of copies on Reserve if you need to quickly refer back to rules on commas, noun/pronoun agreement, structuring your paper, or other issues.

Having trouble putting it all together? The SMC Center for Writing Across the Curriculum (or, "The Writing Center") offers peer-to-peer advising sessions for both undergraduate and graduate students.
