News Databases

The Library also provides access to many international, national, and local newspapers through Lexis-Nexis Academic. Use the following links to browse current/daily news from these newspapers.  Newspapers included in this database: The Guardian (UK), Spiegel (Germany), Folha (Brazil), Globe & Mail (Canada), and Sunday Times (South Africa). Also includes magazine articles.

Current newspapers from around the world. Newspapers included in this database: Moscow Times (Russia), and China Daily (China). You can filter your search to newspapers from a region or country.

The complete New York Times from 1851 to the present.  If this is your first time using this source you will be asked to create an account.  You can then log in from any device to access the paper. Heres more information on how to set up your account.

Brief excerpts of news events.  Is good for looking over a time frame to see what was newsworthy rather than a study of the news story itself.

Questions about grammar and structure? Don't forget to refer back to your ENGL 3, 4 and 5 writing manuals. We have a couple of copies on Reserve if you need to quickly refer back to rules on commas, noun/pronoun agreement, structuring your paper, or other issues.
