Message from Alumni Board President

Dear fellow Gaels,

The 2005-06 Annual Fund Drive is now in full swing. Many of us have received telephone calls from either fellow alums or student volunteers soliciting annual donations. The annual fund is a critical building block that can lead to donations from large foundations. Many foundations look at a school's alumni gift participation record as an important measure to determine whether or not to consider a particular institution for grants. I can remember a time many years ago, when you'd receive the annual list of donors and if a class had less than 50% participation in the annual fund, it was the exception rather than the rule. I would like to challenge you, the alumni of Saint Mary's College, to involve yourself in this year's annual drive by sending in your contribution. I won't suggest a specific dollar amount, but let's boost the participation rate beyond the 50% mark. There have been a lot of positive things happening on campus this past year, and it would be great to see increased alumni involvement in all aspects of Saint Mary's College as part of this increased momentum.

Go Gaels!
