Processing Crisis: a forthcoming multi-genre anthology

MFA in Creative Writing Processing Crisis
SMC MFA's Mary Journal & RiskPress would like to invite you to contribute to Processing Crisis, a forthcoming multi-genre anthology!

We are calling on writers to explore what it means to be in crisis—the ordinary or extraordinary processes we undergo in order to simply exist in the presence of all that is changing in this world.

We invite you to submit work that explores themes of grief, isolation, sudden change, romantic losses, anxious encounters, ruptures in families, current or historical injustices, etc. We are interested not only in the event of crisis but how it is metabolized. You may take a realist approach, or feel free to interpret this prompt through the lens of the weird, the surreal, or the (darkly) humorous.

We welcome contributions from writers of all genres (poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, hybrid works).

We are accepting submissions through April 9, 2021. We welcome both new and previously published work, as long as it is approved by the publisher. Find more submission guidelines linked in the form below.

Processing Crisis is expected to be released in 2022, published by RiskPress. All proceeds of this forthcoming publication will go to Saint Mary's College's MFA program scholarship fund.

Please let us know if you have any questions by emailing us at editors@stmarys-ca.edu. We look forward to reading your work.
