Myha's Bio:

Myha Thi Do was born in Anaheim, CA, and currently lives in Davis. Her story “To Boil Water” won the 2013 Kore Press Contest and the chapbook version of the story will be published from Kore Press in December 2014. “To Boil Water” also earned an honorable mention in the E.M. Koeppel Short Fiction Contest (2009) and is part of Myha’s novel manuscript, Earshot. Additionally, Myha’s poem “The Lie” was published in the poetry anthology, In Other Words (2006), and she received the Jim Townsend Scholarship (2007) for excellence in creative writing.

Myha earned her BA in English and Comparative Literature from UC Berkeley (2007), her MFA in Creative Writing from St. Mary’s College of CA (2009), her MA in English Literature from Mills College (2011), and her MA in Comparative Literature from UC Davis (2013). She is currently finishing up her doctorial degree in Comparative Literature at UC Davis. Her research reexamines the ghost stories of the Chinese writer Pu Songling and the Anglo-Irish writer J. Sheridan Le Fanu from a feminist Bakhtinian perspective.
