Carnival Firenze on Campus Brings Over 1,000 Participants
It's the largest annual event for the Campus Activities Board. Food, games, and rides are the right ingredients for a memorable evening.
Students stepped out in force on Friday, May 17 to enjoy the signature event celebrating the end of the academic year: Campus Activities Board’s Carnival. Some 1,000 students and their guests enjoyed this annual event, providing much-needed stress relief heading into finals week.
Throughout the week leading up to the event, students were able to check in for the Carnival to receive their wristband and sign their waiver, allowing them to step right up to the games and novelties.
The Carnival adventure began on Chapel Lawn with food trucks from 3 Hermanos Mexican Grill, Roadside Rotisserie, and Quick Dog. After a few rounds of Blingo, many students headed over to Ferroggiaro Quad for some “Make-And-Takes” and Carnival souvenirs. Students could stuff a plush, make an air plant, get their caricature drawn, make their own bouquet, get a little face paint, or walk away with some photos from Pop Life Photo Booth.
Reflecting on this year’s event, Lourdes “Lulu” Hernandez ‘25 said, “Carnival is my favorite time of the year, and I always have so much fun with my friends.”

Rides are the cornerstone of every carnival, and the CAB Carnival was no exception. The Berry-Go-Round, Superslide, bumper cars, and mechanical bull were highlights of this year’s event. Students were able to test their strength with the high striker or battle each other in the inflatable joust.
Once the sun set, the silent disco got bumping, and students danced and sang to their favorite tunes curated by DJ’s Sam Alberto ’12, Fiona Corner, and Lyla Lauren. Next door in the 1928 Pub, patrons cheered on our Gaels as they faced Stanford in postseason softball. Meanwhile, the National Champion Men’s Rugby Team treated fans to some sing-alongs and line dance instruction on Chapel Lawn.
