Elizabeth Smith, Associate Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

Elizabeth has nearly 20 years of experience in digital communication, donor relations and integrated marketing and communication.

Elizabeth SmithElizabeth came to Saint Mary’s from UC Davis, where she served as the campus’ first director of marketing communications.  Accomplishments at UC Davis include implementing a university wide integrated marketing plan, providing communications support for the institution’s first comprehensive fund raising campaign and kicking off the development of a university-wide social media strategy. Prior to UC Davis, Elizabeth served Northwestern University as the first marketing communications director for the Northwestern Alumni Association and as director of donor relations.

Elizabeth deeply loves her work and the community at Saint Mary's College. A unique highlight of her time at Saint Mary's was the opportunity to travel to Sri Lanka and teach English alongside a wonderful community of Sri Lankan Brothers, who really know how to have a good time. Elizabeth holds a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from the Medill School at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Auburn University, where she also served as Editor-in-Chief of The Auburn Plainsman, the student-published newspaper of the University.
