Distinguished Speaker Series: Graduate Academic Units (Hybrid Courses) Program

Current best practices will be shared to increase participants’ competence in planning, designing and delivering instruction to all students.  As part of a learning community, students will learn, apply, discuss, and reflect on their teaching experience. This will be facilitated through a hybrid course delivery: two face to face meetings and online learning activities delivered through Moodle, the online learning management system.

The hybrid section of EDTL 600/700 will be compromised of two in-person meetings (January 26th and May 11th) and six online modules to be completed by specified due dates. The January meeting will serve as an introduction to the course, instructor, and class members. The May meeting will take place in conjunction with the Kalmanovitz School of Education Action Research Conference.

EDTL 600 and 700 students will explore contemporary issues and current best practices in education. Topics include: Quality DifferentiationEquitable ClassroomsStudent Engagement, and Inclusive Learning Environments. Students enrolled in EDTL 600 will begin the critical examination and reflection process while those in enrolled in EDTL 700 will take a deeper dive into the course topics and apply practices to their own teaching.

Graduate academic semester units are offered at a discounted rate of $195 per unit ($585 per course).
