Dennis Aquilina

Professional Overview: 

Born in New York City, Dennis Aquilina began his pageantry-teaching career after marching for 10 years with the Hellgaters, New York Skyliners and Garfield Cadets. He has taught numerous Drum and Bugle corps including the Sunrisers, Crossmen, Bridgemen, San Jose Raiders, California Dons, and the Santa Clara Vanguard.
 
Aquilina attended San Francisco State University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Music Performance. He also had the opportunity to study at other institutions including Long Beach State and San Jose State University.
 
Aquilina's music career has led him to many recognitions and awards such as five WSMBC/ WBA Marching Band Championships, 7 CCGC Championships, 7 WGI Regional Championships in both Percussion and Color Guard, and placed 2nd in concert percussion at the 1997 WGI World Championships in Phoenix Arizona and was the 2008 teacher of the year for Pleasanton Unified School District.

This year, Saint Mary's College of California is honored to have him teach and lead the students on the campus Sports Band.
