Expect traffic on all local roads to be EXTREMELY HEAVY and congested on the morning of Graduation. It may take you over two hours to get to campus on Commencement day.
On-campus parking spaces are at a premium on Graduation Day. If at all possible, limit the number of cars your family brings to campus to two. This will greatly enhance everyone's ability to park quickly, locate each other, and reduce the congestion in and out of campus.
Graduates: if you live off campus, be sure to allow plenty of time to get to campus and line-up.
No recreational vehicles (campers, motor homes, 5th wheels) will be allowed to park on campus from Monday, May 19, 2014 through Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Campgrounds and recreational vehicle park locations can be found in the Contra Costa County Central phone directory.
** Transportation Shuttles**
Shuttle buses will be circling the campus from 7AM - 2PM on Commencement day. They will pick up at various "on campus parking lot" locations and drop them off at the path leading up to the Stadium. A single golf cart will be available at the Stadium drop off location to shuttle people with physical disabilities for the last 100 yards from the shuttle Stadium drop-off point to the Stadium entrance.
The shuttle bus service will be available to any and all people attending the Commencement ceremony. The golf cart transport up the final path will only be available for guests with special needs.
This shuttle service will also be available after the ceremony (until 2:00pm) to return people to their parking lot shuttle stops.
Handicap parking is available in a few designated lots for those in need of special parking. You will be directed to the lot and must have a State issued Handicap plate or placard. See "Attendees with Special Needs" at the menu bar on the left.
