The Alumni Legacy Scholarship is available to both new and continuing students who are the children or grandchildren of Saint Mary’s College alumni. The scholarship amount for the fall 2016 year is $10,500 and is annually renewable for up to four years of consecutive full time study, contingent upon satisfactory academic progress. The application requires a no more than 500 word statement answering the prompt outlined below. Following initial review a small number of students will be invited to participate in on campus interviews during the College’s upcoming Scholarship Saturday program February 20, during which they will meet with Alumni Association Board members.
If selected to receive one of the scholarships, we will expect you to become an ambassador for the Scholarship and to participate in various campus events as well as attend at least one Alumni Board of Directors meeting each year.
This award may be combined with other Saint Mary’s College Scholarships for up to a maximum of three separate awards, which may not exceed the cost of tuition. These awards will be applied against any financial need that you may demonstrate through filing of the Free Application of Federal Student Aid. Please note that should you later prove eligible for any Pell and or California Grant aid, the maximum amount of gift aid that you will be awarded will not exceed the cost of tuition.
Recipients of the Alumni Legacy Scholarship must be either the children or grandchildren of Saint Mary's alumni, or the nieces or nephews of Saint Mary's graduates who are Catholic clergy.
