President Obama's recent visit to Copenhagen for the United Nations Climate Change Conference prompted Professor Steve Woolpert to write an Op-Ed for the Contra Costa Times. The guest commentary by the dean of Saint Mary's School of Liberal Arts was featured in the Dec. 26, 2009, issue of the newspaper. An environmental politics professor, Woolpert focused on the shortcomings of global warming solutions originating from those touting policy only or market only approaches. Instead, he argues to achieve substantial movement on climate change, advocates must make the consequences of global warming resonate with voters.
