POWER & PURPOSE: Reflections on the African Art Collection

Power lives in objects. Featuring African Art from the permanent collection, this exhibition highlights selected works redirecting narrative to the descendants impacted by the African Diaspora. Power & Purpose responds to the objects’ histories and how this informs living identities. Guest curated by Kathy Littles, Ph.D., with reflections by SMC students and recent alumni.

On view through June 19, 2022

STOCK

Artist and SMC faculty professor Andrew Mount presents an oeuvre of installation and media art exploring signifiers, hierarchy, and capitalism. Through participation and social engagement, Stock invites visitors to pause and reflect upon the empirical structures and encoded meanings beyond our visibility.

On view through May 8, 2022
