PBS NewsHour Interviews Saint Mary's Brenda Hillman

The PBS NewsHour features an interview with Saint Mary's English Professor Brenda Hillman about her new book "Seasonal Works with Letters on Fire." Hillman spoke with Jeffrey Brown, the NewsHour's chief correspondent for arts, culture, and society, about her latest collection of poetry.

In the interview, Hillman, the Olivia C. Filippi Professor of Poetry and the director of the College's MFA Program in Creative Writing, discusses her literary interest in the elements of air, earth, water and fire and how those natural elements inspired four books on poetry. Her latest book "Seasonal Works with Letters on Fire," was long listed for a National Book Award.

The NewsHour spotlighted Hillman as part of its Poetry Series, and she shared one of her poems with the NewsHour's national audience, reading the selection 'Till it Finishes What it Does," for the program's Art Beat section.
