Auditions are not required for the Performing Arts major in dance. Students will audition for performance ensembles, including the Saint Mary's College Dance Company, early in the new academic year.
The Saint Mary's College Dance Company will hold auditions for the 2015-16 school year on August 31 at 1 p.m. and September 1 at 1:15 p.m. in the Syufy Dance Studio. Dancers must attend both auditions and then if selected will need to enroll in Perfa 75-01 and Perfa 75-02. For more information please contact Cathy Davalos, director of the dance program at [email protected].
The Saint Mary’s Chamber Musicians, Jazz Band, Gospel Voices of Saint Mary’s and our department choral group the NightinGaels are organized early each semester. Contact Professor Martin Rokeach at (925) 631-4682 for audition information.
The Theatre Program will hold its fall general auditions on September 3 & 4, with callbacks on September 8. We will be casting the fall mainstage show, the West Coast premiere of CHASTE (a delicious new comedy about an unlikely romantic trio), as well as senior projects. All roles are open. During Week of Welcome, check the LeFevre Box Office window for audition signups and info about the shows, roles and instructions for preparing your audition. Freshmen, transfers, and newcomers to acting are warmly encouraged to try out. Questions? Contact Rebecca Engle, Theatre Program Director at [email protected].
