Poet Matthew Zapruder joins the MFA and English Department Faculty

The MFA Program is pleased to announce that poet Matthew Zapruder has accepted a position in the English Department at Saint Mary’s College. Poets currently in the program will be working with Matthewin Craft of Poetry this spring; he will begin his fulltime appointment in the fall, 2013, when he will be teaching the Workshop in Poetry.
Matthew ZapruderMatthew comes to Saint Mary’s as a highly celebrated author of several collections of poetry: Come On All You Ghosts (2010), The Pajamaist (2006), and American Linden (2002). He has co-translated, with historian Radu Ioanid, Romanian poet Eugen Jebeleanu’s last collection, Secret Weapon: Selected Late Poems (2008).  His honors include a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Lannan Literary Fellowship, and a 2008 May Sarton Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He has taught at the New School; in the low residency MFA program the University of California Riverside, Palm Desert; and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst’s Juniper Summer Writing Institute. With Joshua Beckman, he co-edits Wave Books.
