Topic #1: The ABC’s of Your Professional Imprint. Does your Appearance, Behavior and the way you Communicate leave a positive and professional image? A positive professional imprint, which is a major part of your branding, requires all three components. In Appearance, we’ll cover your total look, your work environment and how to read and use body language to build your image. In Behavior, business and social protocol is king. It’s not only your actions, but your attitude toward right and wrong that makes a significant difference in how you are perceived. In Communications, we’ll discuss written and verbal extras, how to give and receive criticism, and what not to do with proprietary information.
Topic #2: Successful Career Networking. These must-know basic skills can have a significantly positive impact on your career. The goal of this topic is to increase your confidence and comfort in business and personal networking. Networking is more than meeting and greeting, it’s the system used to build mutually-beneficial business connections and relationships with colleagues and current and potential customers. We’ll cover: how to create a networking strategy; how to work a crowd; networking tools such as a proper handshake and introductions, the best business cards and proper use, and how to juggle food and drink at networking events; appropriate conversation; how to overcome shyness; the how to avoid the circled wagon.
