In this afternoon workshop, you learn practices that cultivate presence as the center around which the practice of leadership revolves. For us, presence is an embodied form of knowing and being that allows us to direct our attention both inwardly and outwardly. This helps us to track our own thoughts, emotions, intuitions, and reactions in the midst of action and interaction, helping us to respond more skillfully. It also supports us to attend outwardly with increasingly undistracted awareness, and to respond more and more from our wisdom, compassion, and courage.
Through silent practice, short talks, conversations, and interactive exercises, you will learn about: (1) developing and maintaining regular mindfulness practices to cultivate presence; (2) bringing these capacities into action and leadership; and (3) focusing concretely on a practicing presence in relationships with people.
This workshop is open to all, with or without previous mindfulness experience, who are interested in learning mindfulness and how to incorporate it in every day action in work and life.
