Presidential Search Update

Dear Saint Mary’s Community,

We hope this message finds you all doing well and anticipating a restful Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

As you know, it was our hope to share the presidential candidate visit schedule with you before the holiday. However, because of the ever-changing COVID restrictions, requirements and guidelines, the structure of candidate visits had to be completely reevaluated and our initial schedule had to be revised multiple times. Therefore, we are once again in the final stages of completing a meeting schedule that includes a full day of interviews for each of the candidates. We plan to circulate details to the campus community early next week.

In addition, our original plan of inviting the Saint Mary’s community to meet the candidates in person is no longer possible. Given the current regulatory environment, all candidate interview sessions have to be conducted via Zoom. To accommodate this process from a technology perspective, a generous College benefactor has graciously purchased four large monitors so that candidates can more easily interact with members of our community via Zoom. Gratefully, as originally planned, all participants can still provide valuable feedback to us via Survey Monkey following the interviews.

In this memo, we would like to again thank all of the Search Committee Members for their tireless efforts through countless hours of Zoom meetings and interviews. We are tremendously grateful for the committee’s dedication and shared sense of responsibility that helped move the search to where it is today. And, a special thanks to all of you. We are grateful for your patience and support as we continue preparing for campus visits

Our best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

Sincerely,

Board Chair Kevin Nagle and Trustee Kim Vogel
