Reaccreditation Process

Over the next two years, Saint Mary's will engage in the reaccreditation process with our regional accreditor, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).  This process includes an off-site visit (December 2013) and an on-site visit (September 2014) from WASC evaluation teams.  

In addition, we are required to prepare an Institutional Report by September 2013.  This Institutional Report primarily asks us to reflect on the College's mission, its history with WASC, and on several issues relevant to higher education today:

  • The meaning of a college degree
  • The core competencies that we provide to undergraduates
  • Degree completion and student success
  • The capacity and sustainability of the institution 

The WASC Reaccreditation Committee is charged with preparing the Institutional Report.
