Confucius (551-479 BCE) famously looked to the past for wisdom, yet his teachings shaped the societies of his future, not only in China, but across East Asia and beyond. His influence is felt even in western societies today.  Although you may not realize it, Confucius has touched your life. To understand more about how and why, join two scholars of Chinese culture for a look at his historical significance and an examination of Confucius in contemporary culture.
