Description:

The Center of Environmental Literacy will be hosting our annual celebration of the 2019 River of Words art and poetry winners at Saint Mary's College of California. Previously called the River of Words Award Ceremony, we encourage all of the environmentally-conscientious and artistic community in the Bay Area to join us. The ROW Team will be joined by River of Words founder and 1995-1997 US Poet Laureate, Robert Hass as well as 2019's River of Words / Kalmanovitz School of Education’s Teacher of the Year award recipient, as well as anticipate the release of the 2019 digital anthology, River of Words: The Natural World as Viewed by Young People.

The event will feature a reading and presentation of our new 2019 River of Words winners, a poetry installation, an art gallery, as well as booths full of educational, engaging, and crafty activities for the whole family! Appetizers and drinks are provided! Just bring a hat, sneakers, and your favorite eco-friendly sunblock.

We hope you will join us for first outdoor festival dedicated to art, poetry and environmental stewardship!
